Jitka Keltie, of Czech origin, started to play the violin at the age of seven. She received a classical music education and she was only fifteen when she started to collaborate with different country and celtic music bands, which has defined her future artistic movement and has had an important impact on her professional career.
As a result, she has continued performing at festivals all over Europe, sharing stages with some of the great artists including e.g. Charlie McCoy, Carlene Carter, Tommy Cash, Coti Sorokin, T. Graham Brown, Becky Hobbs, T. G. Sheppard, Kelly Lang, Buddy Jewell, Fran Fernández and Txetxu Altube, with whom she even recorded albums Cuestión de intensidad and Tras el huracán. She mostly cooperates with a celtic-rock band called Street Wings which has so far released 3 albums: Synchronized, Up to Heaven and Call It Home.
As a solo artist, Jitka combines performing both her own pieces as well as other artists’ interpretations. By means of her appearances she allows the audience to experience different time periods enjoying varied repertoire from places such as Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia and the Czech Republic. She includes also traditional Spanish music and even the country music and bluegrass, both coming from the United States.
